There’s a lot of talk constantly going on about a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. Lots of other bands have already done reunion tours, like the Police and Genesis, and the question comes to mind- are reunion tours good or bad?
A lot of critics say that reunion tours are just a way for old guys to get loads of money, while can’t play or sing as well as they used to. Fans would be disappointing from the low musical quality after paying a ridiculous amount of money for tickets. Lots of reunion tours feature a non-original lineup that’s inferior to the classic one, and the value isn’t worth it.
At the same time, concerts are always fun, especially if the bands are classics who put on awesome shows in the past. Their songs are timeless classics, so it’s hard to go wrong. Plus, wouldn’t it be cool to tell your nephews that you’ve seen these awesome people in concert?
I think the best compromise would be to buy tickets and go to the concert, but not pay lots of money on the front row. When I saw the Eagles last summer I sat in the last row, but was practically right above the stage, so I could see a lot and the view was actually pretty neat. And it didn’t cost too much either, but it’ll be a concert I won’t forget because of the amazing classics they played. I mean, I heard Hotel California live! Sure, Don Fedler wasn’t the one playing the solo, but who cares?
So are you pro reunion tours, or anti? What’s your opinion?
