I don’t want to be the only one sharing my favorite songs here, through my 100 top songs list.

So here’s your spot to share your top songs. It doesn’t have to be 100, just one or two is enough.

You can also place bets on what will my song #1 be, but that’s up to you.

Anyway, I’m waiting for some quick comments on great songs I can listen to… don’t disappoint me.

    Hi there!

One of my all time favorite songs is “Biomusicology” by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. It is a meandering ballad of hope and just makes me feel great whenever I hear it! Here is the last stanza:

All in all we cannot stop singing we cannot start sinking We swim until it ends They may kill and we may be parted But we will ne’er be broken hearted

Freebird by Lynard Skynard is one of the greatest songs ever. At least to me! Other greats:

More than a Feeling by Boston

and Pinball Wizard by The Who

    lechuck, you’ve got taste!

Pinball Wizard is an awesome song… I just find it really short for some reason, like it could use another verse or something.

ameliorator, it was definitely a veggie dog! :) And it definitely wasn’t borrowed, there was no way I was giving mine up!

Hansikas, John Mayer is amazing! Someone once told me at a concert he grabbed a fan’s digital camera, tilted it upwards so that the lens was facing him and played using the corner of the camera – all the while taking pictures of himself! When he gave the camera back, the fan was just utterly stunned. Can you imagine?

Another great song is Snails by the Format. Their songs are so uplifting and soothing. The best lyric from it is “snails see the benefits, the beauty in every inch, oh why, why, are we quick to kiss”. To me, it means to just live life enjoying every minute and taking time to smell the roses!

I like the original version most, simply because it’s so raw and I really like the way the bass sounds.

My all time favourite rock song has to be Layla by Derek and the Dominos/Eric Clapton. Perhaps a bit of a obvious answer seeing as its been voted onto the top of more than a few “greatest rock songs of all-time” lists but every time I hear that guitar intro I just love it.

I have to include Weezer’s Say It Ain’t So on here as well. The Blue Album was the first CD I ever bought and Say It Ain’t So is now a staple in my playlists.

I mentioned some of these in the Albums thread, I think.

Life Burns! – Apocalyptica: it’s in English! And it’s true…

You Know My Name – Chris Cornell: ‘Twas used as the theme to “Casino Royale,” the recent James Bond film

My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama – Frank Zappa: It’s got a killer guitar solo (no pun intended)

Jailbreak – AC/DC: Muddy Waters cover (not Thin Lizzy)

Man in the Box – Alice in Chains: Won’t you come and save me?

    The One I Love – R.E.M.: Fire!

There are plenty more that I find good, or even better, than these, but I have way too many favorite songs to list. If there’s anything with musical quality, I’m there.
